Meet Himanshu
At the heart of Himanshu's teaching philosophy lie his core values: Presence and Discipline.
He believes that by committing to both — on and off the mat — we unlock the profound path to personal growth. How and why? Following paragraphs will shed light on those questions.
Passion for Practice & Personal Growth
Being a lifelong practitioner himself, Himanshu stands out as a considerate and incredibly attentive teacher whose passion for yoga shines through in every class. Coming from a traditional Indian yoga family in Rishikesh, Himanshu embodies the wisdom of his heritage while adding his own style to his teaching.
«More than Movement»
While the physical practice of yoga strengthens the body and promotes flexibility, Himanshu believes that the transformation actually happens within. He considers his yoga practice a ritual of self-care that goes beyond the physical, being profoundly mental, too. It supports him to cultivate a deep connection to himself and to others. He emphasises that the daily practice brings calmness to our breath, and as the breath deepens, our mental state benefits extensively. Witnessing students become calmer, stronger, and achieve their physical and mental goals fuels his dedication as an instructor.
Expertise and Teaching Philosophy
With an academic background including a Bachelor in Yoga and Naturopathy and a Master in Yoga, alongside his 500 RYT certification, Himanshu combines profound knowledge with genuine enthusiasm. He inspires students to achieve long-term health, well-being, and fitness by breaking down complex poses into an accessible, technical approach.
«Work on the base, the rest will come»
Himanshu emphasises building a strong and stable foundation in each pose, believing that mastery of the basics naturally unlocks deeper expressions and advanced postures. Expect an approach that prioritises precise alignment and understanding of the asanas, preparing body & mind for sustainable progress.
Guiding a Global Yoga Community
As the Lead Teacher at Yoga Union Bali, he brings a wealth of experience from leading many 200-hour and 300-hour teacher trainings. Himanshu specialises in Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha and Ashtanga-Vinyasa and is particularly passionate about alignment, asana theory and hands-on assists, ensuring a safe and effective practice.
He has also developed and repeatedly led his own signature 50-HR Art of Adjustments YTT, sharing his passion for alignment and hands-on adjustments with aspiring teachers & practitioners.
Himanshu also enjoys teaching and leading workshops on focus areas like backbends, hips, inversions or arm balances.
